Why work with a mindfulness mentor?

A mindfulness mentor is someone who has a deep knowledge of the material and experience in the field of mindfulness and meditation. They bring out the gifts in those they teach. They impart a sense of confidence in their mentees by encouraging them to stretch beyond their comfort zones and grow in new and unexpected ways. All mindfulness mentors are teachers, but not all mindfulness teachers are mentors.

A mindfulness mentor enhances one’s practice by providing a safe space for students to ask questions without fear of embarrassment. They work with students over a length of time, allowing for a richness and depth to develop. This dynamic creates mutual trust, leading to more honest and fulfilling conversations. (And that’s where the juicy growth can be cultivated!)

Unlike ‘coaching’ the mentor relationship is long-term and more wholistic in nature. A mentor becomes someone who knows and cares about their student, and becomes very familiar with their life, which enables a tailored experience for their unique circumstances. A mentor supports their student’s development of mindfulness and compassion and shows them specifically how to integrate these skills into daily life.
